2022 was a record year for investments in Italian startups. According to recent estimates, investments reached approx. € 2 billion, a growth of more than 60% compared to 2021 (more details will be shared in the coming days – stay tuned!).
Below you will find a list (in alphabetical order) of some of the new venture capital funds, club deals and investment initiatives dedicated to startup investments in Italy, announced in 2022.
360 Square II, the new venture capital fund managed by 360 Capital Partners for pre-seed and seed investments. The fund raised € 45 million and targets information technology, consumer products and services (B2C), and business products and services (B2B) sectors.
Angelini Ventures, the corporate venture capital initiative of the Angelini pharmaceutical group. The company creates, supports and invests up to € 300 million in startups that develop innovative solutions and ideas in biotechnology, life sciences and digital healthcare.
Argo, CDP Venture Capital’s accelerator dedicated to tourism startups. The program is managed in partnership with LVenture and VeniSIA.

Brembo Ventures, Brembo’s corporate venture capital, invests in innovative mobility solutions globally.
Bonsai Ventures, a ~€ 12 million pre-seed investment holding.
CNH Industrial announced the creation of a corporate venture capital arm, CNH Industrial Ventures, dedicated to investments in ventures active in the agriculture and construction industries.
Eatable Adventures, the leading Spanish food-tech accelerators with more than 20 yearly corporate programs and 10 incubation and acceleration programs, announced the launch of its € 50 million Eatable Evolution Fund FCR I – an early and growth stage investor targeting agrifood tech startups across Europe and Latin America.
Eureka! Venture SGR announced the establishment of Eureka! TT, a tech transfer vehicle focused on supporting proof-of-concept projects from universities and research centres.
Excellis, an Italian holding company to invest in foreign startups founded by Italian researchers of the most prestigious European and North American technology universities.
Extend, the national technology transfer hub entirely dedicated to the biopharmaceutical sector for the development of new therapeutic approaches is set up on the initiative of CDP Venture Capital through its Tech Transfer Fund and with the co-investment of partners Evotec and Angelini Ventures.
Fondo Impact, the new fund announced by AVM Gestioni SGR, with a target fundraising of € 50 million.
FoolFarm, an Italian startup studio, announces the creation of FoolCapital S.p.A., a holding company that aims to become the European benchmark in Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain & Cybersecurity. The company aims to raise €25m.
Forward Factory, CDP Venture Capital’s accelerator dedicated to Digital Manufacturing. The program is managed in partnership with GELLIFY and is dedicated to startups with digital innovations in the manufacturing sector.
Founders Factory, the London-based startup builder, announced expansion into Italy with the launch of a new venture studio and accelerator programme in Milan.
Generali, the leading insurance group, announced in its new industrial plan the creation of a € 250 million Corporate Venture Capital fund dedicated to insuretech investments.
Grey Silo Ventures, the Corporate Venture Capital of Cereal Docks Group established to invest in the supply chain of non-animal-based ingredients and related innovative technologies.
Habismart, CDP Venture Capital’s accelerator dedicated to proptech startups. The program is managed in partnership with Digital Magics.
Healthware Ventures, the corporate investment arm of Healthware Group that supports digital health startups with a focus on digital therapeutics and telehealth.
Impatta4Equity, the new investment vehicle focused on innovation and ecological transition, is in partnership with Next4Production, a club deal investor dedicated to open innovation.
Indaco Bio Fund, the new VC fund of Indaco Venture Partners SGR, invests in developing innovative pharmacological therapies. The fund raised € 97 million; investments are focused on the Italian Biotech sector with select investments in other European countries, USA, Canada or Israel.
Kairos Ventures ESG One, one of the first venture capital funds on the Italian market of Kairos – the asset and wealth management Group. The fund target is € 100 million and concentrates on four areas: B2B digital transformation, life science, new space economy, and green energy technology.
Large Ventures, the CDP Venture Capital fund dedicated to investments in late-stage startups. The fund has an initial endowment of €150 million and a target of €750 million.
Metaverse 4 Finance, the first Italian acceleration program aimed at startups focused on metaverse finance promoted by Sella Group.
MV1H, an Italian cross-asset investment vehicle focused exclusively on blockchain technology.
Next Age, CDP Venture Capital’s accelerator dedicated to the silver economy. The program is managed in partnership with AC75 Startup Accelerator.
Nextstep, an investment initiative dedicated to creating innovative startups in the field of environmental sustainability.
Personae, CDP Venture Capital’s accelerator dedicated to welfare startups. The program is managed in partnership with SocialFare | Centro per l’Innovazione Sociale and a|cube.
PiemonteNext, is a co-investment fund focused on startups from the Piedmont region.
Primo Digital, the new ESG venture capital fund promoted by Primo Ventures, raised € 62 million. The fund invests in early-stage technology startups in digital markets, focusing on B2B software, retail & marketplaces, cybersecurity and financial innovation.
Programma 103, the new VC fund of P101 SGR, with € 150 million raised. The managers aim to reach €250 million by 2023. Programma 103’s investment target will be early and growth stage, digital and technology-driven companies, providing B2C and B2B services in fintech, proptech, edutech, and cybersecurity.
Quickload program, the second edition of the gaming acceleration program of 34BigThings, OGR Torino, and Microsoft for gaming startups.
Stellantis Ventures, the € 300 million venture capital fund of Stellantis aimed at startups developing innovative, customer-centric technologies that could be deployed within the automotive and mobility sector.
Takeoff, CDP Venture Capital’s accelerator dedicated to aerospace and advanced hardware startups. The program is managed in partnership with Plug and Play and OGR Torino.
Techshop Primo, the first fund of The Techshop SGR. With a fund size of € 37 million, the fund invests in radically innovative products in the digital B2B tech space at the seed stage.
Terna Forward, the corporate venture capital program of Terna, the Italian company managing the energy grid. With an initial amount of € 50 million, the program is dedicated to new technology for the energy transition; areas of application include robotics, technology for monitoring assets and other solutions supporting the energy transition.
TerraNext, CDP Venture Capital’s accelerator dedicated to bioeconomy startups. The program is managed in partnership with Cariplo Factory.
Unruly Capital, a € 25 million fund for climate startups. Aimed at 60 portfolio companies by 2024, investments of € 250,000 in pre-seed and seed stage worldwide.
VITA, CDP Venture Capital’s accelerator dedicated to digital health startups. The program is managed in partnership with Healthware Group and Accelerace.
